CPE6030   Environment: Gaseous Emissions   (15 credits)

Description

The course is in two parts. In the first, the mechanism of formation of gaseous pollutants from combustion systems and their effect on the environment is studied. Emission control strategies are described for the pollutants CO, CO2, NO, SOx, hydrocarbons. The second part of the course covers the theory and design of unit operations for removing gaseous pollutants from gas streams, in particular the removal of VOCs.
